BPW Victoria - New term kick-off meeting - huge success! Following the Women's Show & Wellness Expo, we were delighted to start our new term at Emily Carr House.

Emily

What a great way to start our new season! A big thank you to Jan, curator at Emily Carr House for making us so welcome and allowing us to use the dining room and parlour for our refreshments. Well worth digging out the bone china for! We hope those who attended enjoyed the event and show below some photographs of the event.

April 20th last year we were proud to host - An Evening with Shelina Lakhdir

Shellina Lakhdhir is the Regional Campaign Manager – British Columbia for Aga Khan Foundation Canada.  Her primary role is to create awareness and raise funds of the international development work Canadians support through Aga Khan Foundation Canada.  She works with over 1000 volunteers  to organize annual Walk and Golf events in Vancouver and Victoria which raises over $2.5M from individual Canadians and many Corporate Organizations. Shellina is a member of the Province of BC’s Multicultural Advisory Committee.

About World Partnership Walk: The World Partnership Walk is Canada's largest annual event dedicated to raising funds and increasing awareness to fight global poverty.  Now in its 27th year, the Walk is organized by volunteers in ten cities across Canada, and attracts tens of thousands of Canadians united in a common effort to bring hope and renewal to some of the poorest communities in the world.  In 2010 nearly 40,000 Canadians came together to raise close to $6 million.  For more information, click here. The 2011 Walk, in Victoria alone, raised more than $202,080.

About Aga Khan Foundation Canada:100% of funds raised by you are used by Aga Khan Foundation Canada to help alleviate poverty and build sustainable solutions in the poorest regions of the world.  These funds support meaningful projects identified and implemented by local communities – projects that revitalize rural economies, ensure clean water and sanitation, strengthen community-based organizations and educate new generations of girls and women.  For more information, click here.
